These short articles are easy to understand and remember, because they
are written to help you to become as healthy as you can be. My goal is
to help you to gradually change your lifestyle to one of health, so you
will actually get healthier as you get older, just as I have done at
age 63. One aspect of health is EXPECTANCY. When I was in Medical
School, I expected to be stricken with colds, sore throats and the flu,
just as everyone was, including the doctors and scientists who taught
us. And my expectations were fulfilled. I was in my early 20s and ate
the same unhealthy food as my relatives, my fellow-students and my
teachers.

But
now I know better, after studying health, nutrition and exercise for 30
years and gradually changing my lifestyle over 23 years. I did not
learn this science of health in Medical School, just as most doctors
don't learn the science of health in Medical School. I learned it by
reading books and magazines, plus free brochures I found in Health Food
Stores, plus by reading a lot of nutritional supplement catalogs. In
addition, a vast amount of knowledge is available today on the Internet
and it's free to anyone who will take the time to read the information.
I encourage you to take the time. It's well worth it.
For
example, there are multiple thousands of people around the world who
are 50+ and wake up every morning with stiff and painful joints. It's
so common that most people expect this as a concomitant of growing
older. They try to get relief by expensive prescription medicines which
bring inevitable side-effects. Then they suffer from something else
also which is a side- effect of the first medicine. And it usually gets
worse and worse as they get older.
Dear
readers, this does not HAVE to happen to you, and if it has, it does
not HAVE to continue. At this time, September, 2002, I am 63 and have
the health of a college athlete because the Good Lord has given me the
wisdom, knowledge, understanding and ability to gradually change my
life. And what I have, I greatly desire to teach you, to encourage you,
and to impart to you.
I
do not have a secret method which I am selling. A major aspect of my
superb health is that I have read and followed (gradually) the advice
and guidelines which have been published by the national disease
organizations and associations for 15+ years. I will explain these in
future Articles and give you details of what healthy foods to eat, what
unhealthy foods to avoid, which nutritional supplements to take, and
which easy, moderate exercises to do (such as walking around the block).
I impart to you now the confident hope that your health CAN improve as you get older, as did mine. |
